London Restaurant Festival 2011

London Restaurant Festival 2011

During the 2011 London Restaurant Festival, Wines from Rioja and the event organisers brought you a whole host of foodie delights. Running for two weeks in October, the festival was a celebration of everything that is great about dining in the capital.

Wines of Rioja was involved in various events taking place across the fortnight including the Big Quiz on Tuesday 4th October. Hosted by Jeremy Lee of the Blueprint Café, this evening kicked off with a glass of Rioja, followed by a delicious three course meal alongside the quiz itself.

Visitors also enjoyed a glass of Rioja and some tasty canapés at The Big Debate, which took place on Tuesday 11th October. 2011 saw Kirsty Young chair A.A Gill, Jonathan Meades, Clarissa Dickson Wright, and Hardeep Singh as they debated the motion: ‘There Is No Such Thing As Ethnic Food’. It was definitely a fire starter!

If you joined us at Rioja Tapas Fantasticas in June last year (it’s on the 14th-15th July this year if you missed it!), you’ll know that here at Wines from Rioja, we love tapas, so we were very excited to bring the spirit of the Rioja region’s capital Logroño to the London Restaurant Festival, with the launch of Tapas Tours. With Tapas Passports in hand, diners had the chance to explore the best Spanish food and Rioja wine that London has to offer.
