RIOJA WINES RETURN TO LONDON MUSIC FESTIVALS FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING
Over the weekend, the Rioja Wine Terrace welcomed an almost 7,000-strong audience in the VIP zone of the Lovebox and Citadel music festivals.
The two festivals, which offer a cultural combination of theatre, food and literature, were held at Gunnersbury Park in London and welcomed a total of 75,000 music fans, the vast majority British, aged between 20 and 40 and with a high disposable income.
On 13, 14 and 15 July, more than 700 bottles of wine were served at the Rioja stand, featuring a wide selection of Rioja whites, rosés and reds.
Rioja wines attracted the attention of the almost 7,000 visitors to Gunnersbury Park in London last weekend at the Lovebox and Citadel music festivals, both of which form part of Rioja’s marketing plan in the United Kingdom. Rioja had its own stand in the VIP zone of the festivals and, in collaboration with a wine expert, teamed up food and wine to the sounds of the most popular music of the moment.
The festivals, whose line-up included well-known artists on the international scene such as Childish Gambino, Skepta and Annie Mac, housed the Rioja Wine Terrace where music lovers, mainly young Brits, had the chance to come along and sample the wines and, in small groups, attend the informative sessions on Rioja given by the TV presenter and wine expert Raúl Díaz, who heads up the popular weekend TV show Sunday Brunch. The area also housed a stand for sampling Iberian cured ham served by the chef of the famous Bar Tozino, a London-based Spanish tapas bar.
The two music festivals that Rioja attended this summer are part of an ambitious agenda of wine and food experiences aimed at end consumers, trade professionals and the specialist media in the UK, the biggest market for Rioja wines. The aim of these actions is to provide a powerful programme that showcases the quality and diversity of Rioja wines to a backdrop of leisure, wine and food.
